Ethan's 5th Birthday Party

This was a fun and frustrating party to prepare for.  A fun theme, but several things were tricky to make or didn't turn out.

Ethan has been into Legos for about a year, but super into them since Christmas.  He will sit for over an hour, sometimes a few hours and put together, take apart, and put together again the kits he has.

I made a test run Lego head cake with fondant, but that turned out horrible, so I opted to make buttercream frosting and just smooth it out.  Way less frustrating.  And it still turned out cute.  I love how the lego sugar cookies turned out!  I spray painted a red vine container so he could use it to store his Legos in after the party.

He received awesome birthday presents; here are a couple great shots of his enthusiasm.  I knew the magnifying glass would elicit some sort of reaction because we bought one for Grandpa Otto for Christmas that had an antler handle, and Ethan was not happy about giving that one away.

For some reason, Emeree only wanted to eat the blue lego cookies.  And her mouth was a very pretty blue.  When I tried to take a picture of her, she gave me the cutest scowl.
