C-Section, here we come!

So the baby's head hasn't moved down yet and today it's resting on my hip, so the doctor needs to do a C-Section now . . . otherwise I risk rupturing my uterus if labor starts with him in the wrong spot. He still moves a lot, so he could move into position, but with only 3 days till the due date and he hasn't yet, he most likely won't.

So I had two options . . . #1 - tomorrow morning or #2 - thursday morning. I chose Thursday since I kinda panicked thinking I'd be going into surgery tomorrow morning - less than 24 hours away. I still needed to stock up on groceries, get things finished at work so I can pass them off without any stress, etc.

But now I'm going to be stressed about having a C-Section for 2 more days, so I should have just gone with tomorrow. Oh well.

So my baby boy will be born on his actual due date - I read that only about 5% of babies in the US are actually born on their due dates . . . but I don't think mine counts since I scheduled it.

We're going to WinCo tonight to stock up on groceries and then I'll do my best to clean up . . . can't really do too much myself since I can't bend over to pick anything up. And the kitchen is Michael's zone to clean, so I'll leave that for him.

Oh Serena - hang in there! Babies can move a lot, and sometimes they don't drop down until right before the big event- which unfortunately, is often past the due date with 1st babies.;) Is your doctor wanting to do anything to try to get him to move before you go into surgery? I don't know enough of the particulars, but you might check www.spinningbabies.com for something you can try for your situation. It's pretty pro-NCB and all, but recovering from major abdominal surgery is not fun or inexpensive!

Whatever happens though, I wish you all the best. You're going to be such a cute little mommy!
